Our Adventures
We Meet ~ We Study~ We Fellowship~ We Love~ We Fundraise~ We Travel
The Bible
We began our first season three years ago with the first book of the bible “Genesis.” We have completed Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Numbers, Judges, Joshua, Ruth, 1st Samuel and we are about to begin 2nd Samuel.
We have taken nine trips and each was related to the scripture.
Genesis - Lake Point, Georgia
The theme was “A Mantle of love"
This lesson was based on the story of Noah and the son who covered him when he was drunk. During this trip, we created a blanket made up of squares of material on which the children wrote their prayers. Every time a new child joins Babes in Christ they have the opportunity to add a square to our blanket of love.
Leviticus - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
October 2021
Theme-"Slay the lamb no more."
As children of God, we do not have to put blood on the doorpost because Jesus became our sacrificial lamb. During our trip, the children also learned about communion and partook of the symbolic body and blood of Jesus at the beach.
Exodus - Pigeon Forge, Tennesee
February 2021
Theme- "Cloud by day, fire by night."
This theme came to life as we spent a few days on a farm in Tennessee. One night, we pitched a fire in the woods and allowed the fire to guide us.
Numbers- Athens, Ohio
February 2022
Theme- "The blessing"
Moses led the people through the wilderness toward the promised land. While none of these people were able to partake of the blessing, their children did. Our children are partakers of the blessing
Deuteronomy -Davenport, Florida
March 2022
Theme: Honor thy mother and thy father.
During this trip, children were admonished to honor their parents so that they could live long lives.
Judges- Troy, North Carolina Ashboro Zoo
February 2023
Theme: The Feast and the Lion
The children learned about Samson's strengths and that despite his weaknesses God's mission was ultimately fulfilled. At the Asheboro Zoo, we visited the lions because Samson defeated a lion with his bare hands and killed thousands of men with the jawbone of a donkey.
Joshua- Williamstown, Kentucky
July 2022
Theme: The Ark Encounter
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord, became the children's mantra during this experience.
Ruth-Boaz, Alabama
September 2023
Theme: Faithfulness
Ruth was blessed because of her faithfulness to her mother-in-law. After returning to her mother-in-law's country (after the death of her husband) Ruth soon met Boaz, a very wealthy man with a barley field who allowed Ruth to glean. We visited Cornutt Farms in Boaz and learned how barley is grown and the process of gleaning.
Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea."
Matthew 18:5,6 (ESV)
I Samuel- Stone Mountain, Georgia
February 2024
Theme- God looks at the heart.
After climbing the mountain, we were reminded that man is focused on our outer appearance-how we look and what we do, but God looks at and is concerned about the condition of our hearts.
Our Next Stop-
La Haciendita, Nuevo Leon Mexico
We have partnered with Ministry Beyond Myself and will travel to La Haciendita, Nuevo Leon, Mexico this June. La Haciendita is a rural village in Northern Mexico. It has a population of about 500 people. There is high unemployment and limited resources. We are partnering with MBM and the community on an economic development project. While there not only will we participate in the construction work, but we will also participate in prayer walks, fellowship and break bread with families, attend worship services, help with VBS, and support a community health fair.
